REFRIGERATE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES FOR LONGER FRESHNESS

Most fruits and vegetables can be refrigerated, for longer freshness. The preferred temperature of the refrigerator should be between 1.7 – 3.3 degrees Celsius.

-   Keep fresh produce in perforated plastic bags in the produce drawer of the refrigerator.

- Always keep fruits and vegetables in separate drawers as ethylene can build up in the fridge and stimulate spoilage.

- Make sure that the fruits and vegetables are dry before placing them in the fridge. Remove any mushy or overripe fruit at once. The presence of water may stimulate spoilage.

Berries are highly perishable and should be kept refrigerated at once.
Never put unripe bananas or unripe mangoes into the refrigerator, or the fruits will spoil.
